On 29 November 2017, the Victorian Parliament passed the Voluntary Assisted Dying Act 2017. This Act enables Victorians who are suffering and who meet certain eligibility criteria to request access to voluntary assisted dying and comes into effect on the 19th of June 2019. What does this change in legislation mean to us and those we care for in our families and Parish? Our Christian and palliative care tradition provides us with a unique alternative in caring for those with a serious illness or approaching the end of life.
Please join us on Monday, May 13th at 7:00pm for a talk on the new Voluntary Assisted Dying legislation. Our speaker is Associate Professor Natasha Michael, a senior clinician and academic at a large Palliative Care service in metropolitan Melbourne.
