Baptism

Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit (vitae spiritualis ianua),4 and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: "Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word." – Catechism of the Catholic Church 1213

The Sacrament of Baptism (Infants and Children) is celebrated on selected Sunday’s throughout the year at 11:30am.

Parents seeking Baptism should contact the Parish Office to enquire about available dates for the rest of the year.

Marriages

The sacrament of Matrimony signifies the union of Christ and the Church. It gives spouses the grace to love each other with the love with which Christ has loved his Church; the grace of the sacrament thus perfects the human love of the spouses, strengthens their indissoluble unity, and sanctifies them on the way to eternal life (cf. Council of Trent: DS 1799). – CCC 1661

The Sacrament of Marriage is celebrated on request.

Couples should contact the Parish office with at least 9 months notice to commence marriage preparation.

Funerals

All the sacraments, and principally those of Christian initiation, have as their goal the last Passover of the child of God which, through death, leads him into the life of the Kingdom. Then what he confessed in faith and hope will be fulfilled: "I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come." – CCC 1680

Funerals are celebrated at Holy Family at the Request of the family.

Families should make contact with the Parish office promptly following the death of a loved one to begin planning.

Funerals at Holy Family are organized in accordance with the Archdiocese of Melbourne Guidelines for Preparing a Catholic Funeral.

Families are encouraged to use our Parish Musician when planning music for the Funeral.
