Evangelisation & Catechesis

Hello, my name is Kari Quist. I recently graduated from the John Paul II Institute for Marriage and Family with a Master’s degree in Theology.

I am originally from Canada but I have spent over five years living in Australia and consider it my home. I am engaged to a wonderful Australian man and we’ll be getting married this October.

I am very excited to serve the Parish and the wider community of Mount Waverley through my work. My role will involve forming a team of parishioners to assist in running the Alpha Program this year at Holy Family: I will also be working with parishioners to facilitate Baptism preparation classes for parents who are seeking the sacrament for their children: and running catechesis classes for children who are preparing for the Sacraments of Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation.

I look forward to working with the women of the Parish through a regular women’s group that will utilise the resources developed by the Catholic organization, Blessed is She. Along with offering a variety of programs, my role will focus on fostering a spirit of evangelisation and generous volunteerism amongst the Holy Family community. Together we serve the needs of our Parish, but more importantly, we can reach out to those in the greater community and draw them into an encounter with Christ.
